The much-anticipated collaboration between Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon has finally been confirmed, with the Pooja of their new film on July 10 in Kochi. This project marks Gvm’s directorial debut in Malayalam cinema and is already generating significant buzz.
A Promising Collaboration
Mammootty, who was last seen in the action-packed film “Turbo” earlier this year, has embarked on this exciting venture with Gautham Vasudev Menon. Known for his impactful roles in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films, Menon brings his unique storytelling flair to Malayalam cinema for the first time. The film, produced under Mammootty’s home banner, Mammootty Kampany, is the sixth project from the company, which has previously produced acclaimed films like “Kaathal- The Core” and “Rorschach.”

The film’s production officially began with a pooja ceremony attended by Mammootty, Gvm, and several key members of the cast and crew. Apart from Mammootty, the film features Gokul Suresh, Lena, Siddique, Vijay Babu, and Viji Venkatesh, who is known for his role in “Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum.” The technical crew includes editor Anthony, a frequent collaborator of Gvm, and cinematographer Vishnu Dev, who previously worked with the director on the yet-to-be-released “Dhruva Natchathiram.” The music for the film will be composed by Darbuka Siva, renowned for his work in Menon’s 2019 film “Enai Noki Paayum Thota.”

Although primarily recognized for his directorial ventures, he has been exploring acting roles in various languages. He recently appeared in the Tamil film “Hit List” and is set to play significant roles in the upcoming Nandamuri Balakrishna film “NBK109” and Vetrimaaran’s “Viduthalai 2.”
In addition to this directorial debut, Gvm also plays a key role in Mammootty’s upcoming film “Bazooka,” directed by Deeno Dennis, which is currently in post-production.
