It isn’t every day that ‘Thala’ Ajith stars in a film that doesn’t revolve around him. Shedding his usual heroic antics for the courtroom drama Nerkonda Paarvai, Ajith shines as the brooding, disturbed lawyer who questions his own client on her virginity.
Nerkonda Paarvai is the remake of Hindi film Pink, and by the looks of things, the film is a faithful remake. However, some parts have been notably tweaked for the Tamil audience’s palate. This is seen in the final scene of the trailer, where Ajith swishes in the wind after beating up a couple of bad guys – an ode to his mass-ness, we presume. There was no such sequence in the original film, Pink.
Nerkonda Paarvai stars Ajith, Shraddha Srinath, Vidya Balan, Andrea Tariang and Abhirami Venkatachalam. The film is directed by H Vinoth.
The film depicts a tale about three women who are falsely accused of prostitution and murder, and the courtroom drama that ensues.
Nerkonda Paarvai is set to hit screens in August this year.
