Karthi’s “Sardar 2,” directed by PS Mithran, has recently commenced filming. The makers announced on Tuesday that actor SJ Suryah has joined the cast. While the return of the original “Sardar” cast remains unconfirmed for the sequel, the production of “Sardar 2” began on Monday.
The sequel follows Karthi’s 2022 film “Sardar,” which featured Raashi Khanna, Laila, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, and Munishkanth among others.
Cinematographer George C Williams and stunt director Dhilip Subbarayan are retained in the technical crew, while Yuvan Shankar Raja takes over from GV Prakash as the music composer and Vijay Velukutty replaces Antony L Ruben as the editor.
Produced by Lakshman Kumar under the Prince Pictures banner, “Sardar 2” marks the next chapter in the series. SJ Suryah, who is also awaiting the release of Dhanush’s “Raayan,” was last seen in “Indian 2” and has several upcoming projects including “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram,” “Game Changer,” “Love Insurance Corporation,” and “Veera Dheera Sooran.”
