Visaghan Launches ‘The Ripple Effect Charity Fundraiser 3.0’ To Help Hospis Malaysia And Struggling Retail Outlets

Knowing that retail outlets have truly suffered during the pandemic, this young lad stepped up to make a difference!

Emblazoned with a smile on his face, Visaghan Shanta Mohan has once again stepped forward to raise funds for Hospis Malaysia which is a palliative care centre. With the Christmas and New Year celebrations around the corner, the young lad decided to carry out The Ripple Effect Charity Fundraiser 3.0 to help support this important cause especially in the midst of a global never ending pandemic .

In 2019, the IGCSE student from St. John’s International School Kuala Lumpur had conducted a charity event online, The Ripple Effect in fond memory of Uncle Jegadeva. And to our surprise, he successfully collected RM27,500 which surpassed his initial target collection.

So, what is Hospis Malaysia all about?

Hospis Malaysia is a non-profit organisation that provides professional palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses in the community (such as cancer, AIDS, organ failure or progressive neurological conditions.) They are not linked with any political, religious, governmental, or private organisations, and are run by a group of medical professionals, a small administrative staff, and volunteer-professionals who oversee their policies and finances. Besides that,  Hospis Malaysia provides its services and facilities free of charge.

“It has taught me the importance of tenacity and sustenance. Bonding and working together with my younger brother, Pranava Shanta Mohan has been a big plus to the Project as he brings a whole different aspect of skill-sets and technical prowess to make things better,” said Visaghan.

On the other hand, Visaghan has another interesting element this year where the charity fundraiser had inspired an octogenarian, Mrs. Gana Jegadeva to do her part in contributing to HOSPIS Malaysia by utilising her time on her sewing machine to create totes, oven mits, purses, pin cushions, scented soaps, potpourri sachets and many other items to contribute towards this noble cause.

Currently, the good Samaritan is trying to raise a modest sum of RM50,000.00 in light of helping a few chosen retail outlets to sustain and overcome these challenging times.

Hence, if you’d like to donate to this cause, you may reach out to Visaghan at 012-2469987.
