The sudden and unexpected death of a 13-year-old teenager, N. Revnesh Kumar after receiving a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on 30th December 2021 has created a buzz and topic of concern amongst Malaysians at the moment.

Malaysia Tamilar Munnetra Kalagam chairman Sri Ramesh V. Kannan said the parents of the late Revnesh Kumar Naresh Kumar have been urging the Health Ministry to expedite the investigation into the case as the cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

A tweet by DAP’s Charles Santiago and Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin can be seen as below:

Yes, YB. We extend our deepest condolences to the parents and I have asked @DGHisham to issue a statement soonest. https://t.co/azUjOFg6fR

“As the cause has yet to be verified, the reason indicated on the death record certificate states that the case is ‘Pending for Laboratory Investigation. We’ve been informed that the laboratory report might take up to six months to complete, which is a long time,” Sri Ramesh said when contacted by The Vibes.

Sri Ramesh stated that Revnesh’s parents, driver Naresh Kumar Lachemenan and housewife Vijayarani Govindan – from Putrajaya – claimed his death was caused by his first dosage of the vaccine, which he received on 30th December, 2021.

According to The Vibes, Revnesh was on the way to karate class when he began vomiting and then collapsed before he was rushed to Kajang Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Both parents made the call for the investigation in a video posted on Malaysia Tamilar’s Facebook page this afternoon.

Currently, the state Health Department is working closely with the clinicians and a forensic team in the investigation.

“At the moment, the state Health Department is working closely with the clinicians and a forensic team in the investigation. I have yet to receive the full forensic and pathology reports,” Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted on Monday.

Moh would like to extend our deepest condolences to the parents and family. At the moment the state health department is working closely with the clinicians and forensic team in the investigation. I have yet to receive the full forensic and pathology reports.
