Umathevy, the founder of Freshinkmehendi, is organizing a fundraising Deepavali henna booth in support of the Cancer Foundation. Freshinkmehendi has established itself as a prominent name in the henna industry, known for its artistic designs and quality service.

The henna booth will take place at 37-2-A, Wisma Mega, Jalan Miri, 41400 Klang, on October 29 and 30, 2024. During this two-day event, Freshinkmehendi will donate 50% of all proceeds from the henna booth directly to the Cancer Foundation, aimed at supporting vital cancer research and enhancing patient care.

Henna artists who may not have space for a booth but are eager to contribute to this noble cause by offering their services and donating 50% of their profits are also encouraged to join us. The Freshinkmehendi studio is spacious and can accommodate 10 to 15 henna artists, fostering an inviting atmosphere for collaboration and creativity.

This initiative not only provides a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy beautiful henna art but also plays a crucial role in raising funds for an important cause.

Umathevy shared that three years ago, “we organized our Deepavali henna booth with the intention of raising funds for local dog shelters. It was a last-minute plan without proper promotion, and only about three or four henna artists participated in this initiative. Together, we managed to collect around RM2,500 to RM3,000 for the shelters.”

This year, we are returning with a different noble initiative. Recently, Navin Indran Pillai, a beloved member of our community and a cancer survivor, sadly passed away. She was a dear friend and client of mine. Last year, I was supposed to do henna for her, but I took a break, and this year I intended to do the same, but unfortunately, she is no longer with us. In her memory, we would like to contribute 50% of our profits to the Cancer Foundation. Additionally, I would like to extend this effort beyond just the Freshink team. I invite all henna artists in Malaysia to contribute at least 10% to 20% of their profits to the Cancer Foundation as well. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.”

This event reflects our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and supporting causes that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. The henna booth will showcase talented artists who will offer intricate and beautiful designs for visitors to enjoy, all while knowing that their participation contributes to the fight against cancer.

“We strongly believe that true success is measured by what we give back to our communities. Contributions from this event will help us move closer to our mission of advancing cancer research and providing essential care for those in need. We also hope to inspire others to consider dedicating a portion of their income to giving back to the community,” said Umathevy.
This heartfelt initiative by Freshinkmehendi stands as a powerful reflection of the impact that art and community can have on people’s lives. By blending creativity with compassion, Umathevy and the participating henna artists are honoring the memory of a cherished friend and striving to give back in meaningful ways. This event goes beyond just an opportunity for beautiful henna designs; it’s a platform to rally support for cancer research, patient care, and community solidarity.
