Preschool Teacher Neermala Doraisamy Awarded ‘Teacher of the Year 2024’ at Asian Education Awards

Neermala Doraisamy, a dedicated preschool teacher from Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Lurah Bilut in Pahang, has achieved a remarkable milestone by being honoured with the ‘Teacher of the Year2024’ award in the Preschool Education category at the prestigious Asian Education Awards 2024. The prestigious ceremony was held in Bangkok, Thailand.

With 19 years of unwavering dedication to the field of education, 43-year-old Neermala Doraisamy has been recognized for her exceptional contributions as a preschool teacher. Her remarkable journey in shaping young minds was honoured at the prestigious Asia Education Conclave (AEC).

“I am truly honoured to receive the Teacher of the Year 2024 award in the Preschool Education category from the AEC. This platform unites educators from across the globe and emphasizes the vital role we, as teachers, play in shaping the future.”

Teacher Neermala expressed her heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging God’s blessings, guidance, and the opportunities she has received. She shared her joy in standing alongside dedicated educators and leaders in their respective fields, calling it a truly humbling and inspiring experience.

Originally from Temerloh, Pahang, she shared that she has devoted 14 years of her career to teaching at the preschool level. During this time, she worked with young children, typically aged five and six, helping to shape their early educational experiences. Her dedication to early childhood education has allowed her to play a key role in fostering their growth, development, and learning during these formative years.

“I teach according to the National Preschool Standard Curriculum, and the award I received reflects the collective efforts of all those who have worked tirelessly to enhance early childhood education. With this in mind, I am committed to continuing to make a positive impact in education at this level,” she said.

Teacher Neermala extended her sincere gratitude to her beloved husband, Youva Raj, her family, the Bentong District Education Office (PPD), the Pahang State Education Department (JPN), the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), as well as the administrators and colleagues at SJKT Lurah Bilut. She thanked them for their constant support, encouragement, and assistance, which have been a continual source of motivation throughout her journey.
