Shakti School of Yoga, Malaysia, achieved a monumental achievement by etching its name in the Malaysia Book of Records for hosting the “Most Participants in a Yoga Competition”.

This groundbreaking event was held at Dewan The Grand, Lukut, Negeri Sembilan, and witnessed by over 2,000 attendees.

The competition, organized in collaboration with yoga sport schools nationwide, was more than just a physical showcase. It was a vibrant celebration of yoga’s holistic essence—encompassing physical, mental, and emotional dimensions.

A Record-Breaking Achievement

A total of 778 participants registered for the event with 741 of them taking to the stage to set the record.

Participants, ranging in age from 4 to over 50, competed in diverse categories. Each competitor demonstrated three distinct asanas, executed within a strict two-minute window.

Behind the Scenes of Success

Coordinating an event of this magnitude was no small feat. A dedicated team of 150 committee members—comprising teachers and students—worked tirelessly to ensure seamless execution.

This was followed by a stunning display of Silambam, a traditional Indian martial art, which added a rich cultural layer to the occasion.

The fusion of yoga and cultural heritage created an atmosphere of inspiration and unity.

Yoga: A Celebration of Strength and Community

Beyond the competition, the event was a tribute to the transformative power of yoga. It brought together people of all ages, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among practitioners.
