Strengthen Nambikei Spirit, Celebrate Pongal with Joy, Says Ramanan

Today as we all get together and celebrate Pongal, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan has encouraged the Indian community to embrace the spirit of unity among us and let this year bring prosperity. In his Pongal message, he expressed the hope that this Pongal would bring joy and opportunities to the Indian community while fostering harmony among all Malaysians.

“Pongal holds great significance for all of us. I pray that we can achieve success in areas such as the economy, education, and beyond”, said Ramanan in a statement.

Ramanan highlighted the need for the India community to work together in a planned and organized manner to achieve shared aspirations. He emphasized the importance of unity for greater achievements with the Tamil saying, “Thai Pirandhal Vazhi Pirakkum” (The Birth Of A New Year Opens New Paths)

He also highlighted the government’s commitment uplifting the Indian community through various initiatives, including those under the Malaysia Madani vision. He called on all Malaysians to reflect the country’s progress and challenges, strengthening unity and understanding.

Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated by our Indian community, not just in Malaysia but worldwide, its a time to express gratitude to the Sun (Suryan) and Earth (Bhoomi) for the harvest. It is for new beginnings, hope and to bring prosperity. Ramanan urged the Indian community to celebrate the festival with positivity and resilience as it marks a new chapter.

“In conjunction with this year’s Pongal celebration, let us all, as Malaysians, strengthen unity and understanding among ourselves in line with the Malaysia Madani concept”.

“Pongal Vaalthukkal (Happy Pongal). Celebrate Pongal with joy and happiness. A strong spirit of ‘Nambikei’ (confidence) will surely bring success to all of us,” , said Datuk Ramanan.
