The MADANI Government is firmly dedicated to fostering the growth and empowerment of entrepreneurship within the Indian community. Recognizing the vital role of economic participation in driving societal progress, the government remains steadfast in its efforts to create opportunities, enhance support systems, and promote sustainable business ventures. This commitment underscores its broader vision of inclusive development, ensuring that all communities thrive in a dynamic and resilient economy.

The allocation of RM100 million, the largest ever in the history of the Indian Community Entrepreneur Financing Scheme (TEKUN – SPUMI) since its inception in 2007, represents a strategic initiative aimed at empowering Indian entrepreneurs to grow and advance their businesses.

As always, I will closely oversee the disbursement of these funds to ensure an efficient and effective delivery system. My office team will collaborate closely with the leadership of TEKUN Nasional to ensure a seamless and successful implementation process.

SPUMI has an impressive track record, having supported 26,804 Indian entrepreneurs with a total of RM500 million in financing since its inception in 2007. In 2024, a total of RM58.9 million was allocated to support 2,408 Indian entrepreneurs through SPUMI. Additionally, SPUMI Goes Big, launched in April 2024, provided RM12.6 million in funding to 287 entrepreneurs.

With steadfast support from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, the MADANI Government remains committed to introducing and implementing new initiatives aimed at benefiting the Indian community. These initiatives are designed to create meaningful opportunities, enhance economic empowerment, and foster long-term growth within the community. Through continued collaboration and strategic efforts, the government strives to ensure that the Indian community has access to the resources and support needed for a prosperous future.
