W. Siddharthan, a young athlete and dedicated student from SJKT Ladang Rini Rasmi, recently represented his school as a part of Johor Hockey Team, held at National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil. The team competed among some of the best young hockey players, Siddharthan also played the role in playing along with his team and secured the 4th place in the tournament.
The National SJKT Hockey Tournament 2025, 3rd edition was an event that draws up top performing Tamil schools and was held on 21st and 22nd January. The whole tournament involved 21 teams (15 mens and 6 women’s). This is an initiative from KHM, QNET as well as the Ministry of Education (KPM) to bring all the talented young participants from Tamil schools all over Malaysia.

The platform has been provided and also believed to be able to see the potential of the talented players. In the tournament, Selangor A defeated Penang A 2-0 in the final and the Klang Valley team also faced the same challenge for the past three years. While Negeri Sembilan has a tie with Johor emerged the overall champion after achieving a 1-0 victory through penalty goal.

Competing such a huge competition is not a small thing and Siddharthan’s contribution to his team’s performance reflects his skill, discipline and passion for the sport and his team. His success showcases the importance of nurturing talent from a young age and providing platforms for students to excel in sports.
As Malaysian hockey continues to grow, young players like Siddharthan are paving the way for the next generation of athletes. His achievements at the National Hockey Tournament not just brings pride to Tamil schools but the state too.
