The wedding hall at the Arulmigu Samayapuram Maha Mariamman Temple in Tanjong Rambutan has been beautifully renovated and officially inaugurated, marking a significant milestone for the temple and its devotees.
Originally built in 1972, this wedding hall holds great historical significance. Temple Chairman Murugaiah and his management team provided a detailed account of its condition, highlighting that it had become unusable due to severe deterioration. The matter was then brought to the attention of the Prime Minister, who approved a grant of RM 250,000 for its renovation. Following this, the restoration work officially began.
The wedding hall’s roof was damaged during the rainy season, causing rainwater to leak in. This led to several challenges and inconveniences. Later, Dr. Indran Sena, the son of the temple’s former chairman, Gunasekaran, visited the hall in person and donated RM 50,000 to replace the roof. Temple Chairman Murugaiya Subramaniam expressed his gratitude to the family for their generous support as well.
In the future, the temple management will be able to generate additional revenue through this wedding hall. He also noted that the facility would greatly benefit the local Indian community by providing a convenient venue for their events.
The Prime Minister was invited to inaugurate the newly renovated wedding hall at the Arulmigu Samayapuram Maha Mariamman Temple in Tanjong Rambutan. R. Suresh Kumar, Special Officer for the Tambun parliamentary constituency, attended on his behalf.
