Malaysia’s Dr Shalini Devi Ramachandran has made the nation proud by winning two prestigious awards at the Mrs World 2024, held in Las Vegas. She was honored with the Best Costume Award and Mrs World Ambassador Award, showcasing her status as a symbol of empowerment, resilience and elegance.
One of the highlights of the pageant was Dr Shalini’s breathtaking national costume “Puteri Membara Malaysia”, a 121.3 metre long trail that earned Malaysian Book Of Records. More than anything, her winning Best Costume Award designed by Saran Anak Lagong from Sarawak brings us pride as it represents rich cultural diversity and unwavering spirit of Malaysian Women.
Following her achievements, Dr Shalini took to Instagram to express her gratitude, “My Malaysia, I hope I made you proud”. Her journey to this international stage has been nothing short of inspiring. Having battled with obesity and diabetes in the past, she has now become a role model for many womens, proving that self belief and perseverance can lead anyone anywhere.
With her new title as the Mrs World 2024 Ambassador, Dr Shalini will continue to take on the role of uplifting womens across the globe.
Meanwhile, the Mrs World 2024 title was won by South Africa’s Tshego Galae, Sri Lanka’s Ishadi Amanda as the first runner up and Thailand’s Ploy Panperm as second runner up.
