Malaysian Indian women continue to achieve remarkable milestones across various fields, breaking barriers and inspiring future generations. In recognition of their contributions, the Malaysian Indian Organization for Development of Indian Women in Career, Entrepreneurs & Professionals (MiWEPs) has launched the Malaysian Indian Women Icon Coffee Table Book.

This prestigious book celebrates the achievements and impact of outstanding Malaysian Indian women. The official launch took place on March 15, 2025, at the Wyndham Hotel, marking a significant moment in honoring their success and perseverance. The book was launched by Datuk Anbumani Balan on behalf of Dato’ Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, who was invited as the guest of honor for the event.

This prestigious recognition is awarded to distinguished figures, including Dato’ Ambiga Sreenivasan, Dato’ Nicol David, Datuk Suseela Menon, Datuk Rasammah Bhupalan, Datuk Ramani Gurusamy, Datuk Sasikala, Dr. Jaya Bushani, Dato’ Anusha Santhirasthipam, Datuk Bindi Rajasegaran, and YB Saraswathy Kandasami. The organizers shared that this book serves as a source of inspiration, showcasing the immense talent and capabilities of women in achieving remarkable feats. They hope that by reading these stories, other women will be motivated to pursue their own aspirations and strive for success in their lives.

This book brings to light the inspiring stories of 85 remarkable Indian women in Malaysia, spanning from 1928 to the present. Many of these women have made significant contributions in various fields but have remained largely unnoticed. It highlights trailblazers from diverse sectors, including leaders, C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, founders, and decision-makers across business, private and public sectors, community services, politics, entertainment, social media influencers, and social entrepreneurship. By documenting and presenting their journeys, this book ensures that their achievements and perseverance are recognized, serving as a testament to their impact and a source of inspiration for future generations.
