The island of Labuan is set to host a spiritual event as the “Kanda Sasthi Kavacham Vilakka Urai”, will be launched at the Labuan Thirumurugan Temple on 28th March, marking the grand completion of the temple’s 48th day Mandalabhishekam ceremony.
This book will be presented by Thirumathi Latha Ramaraj, also known as ‘SriValli”, who is a devotional commentary inspired by the divine grace of Goddess Valli. Unlike previous interpretations published in Malaysia, this is not a research based analysis but a heartfelt exposition of the significance of Lord Murugan’s Kanda Sashthi Kavasam. The event will be the first of it’s kind on Labuan Island, marking it a historic occasion for Murugan devotees.
A Divine Celebration of Devotion
The Labuan Thirumurugan Temple has been a focal point for all spiritual activities since it’s grand Kumbavishekam on 9th February 2025. Following this, devotees have been participating in daily Mandalabhishekam Poja’s for 48 days.
Adding to the significance of the event, Latha Ammaiyar will lead a recitation of the Kanda Sasthi Kavasam on 27th March, followed by the official book launch the next day on 28th March. The temple president Mr. Subramaniam has ensured that this ceremony is conducted in a special way, making it a meaningful experience for devotees seeking to understand and recite the Kanda Sasthi with a deeper knowledge.
The Kanda Sasthi Kavacham is a powerful chant dedicated to Lord Murugan, believed to provide protection, wisdom and liberation from karmic burdens. The newly released book explores the hidden spiritual meanings, offering readers a clear understanding of the verses. According to Latha Ammaiyar, this book is a spiritual bridge between the material and divine realms, guiding devotees towards self realization.
All devotees are warmly invited to participate in this spiritual event, receive divine blessings and gain a clear understanding of the teachings. Following the launch, the book release and a special lecture by Latha Ammaiyar will also be held at the Sri Subramaniar Temple, Jalan Kajang Selangor.
