The Stray Animal Association of Malaysia (SAFM), in partnership with various veterinary clinics, has deployed its volunteers on a rescue mission to support pets and stray animals impacted by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights that occurred yesterday.
SAFM President R. Kalaivanan stated that the assistance offered includes complimentary emergency treatment for animals affected by burns or smoke inhalation, along with free food for pets and strays who have been displaced or lost their caregivers.
“We have identified four veterinary clinics near the incident site in Subang Jaya to provide treatment and distribute aid,” said Kalaivanan.

“The clinics will only require basic information, such as the location of the incident, to ensure efficient treatment. In emergency situations, it may be challenging to gather complete details, but veterinarians will assess the severity of the injuries,” he explained in an interview with Bernama Radio this morning.
Kalaivanan mentioned that the aid mission has commenced today and will continue as long as there is a need. SAFM is also urging the public to donate pet food, medicine, and other essential supplies to support the affected animals.
For more information or to make a donation, individuals can contact SAFM through its website at Animal.org.my or via WhatsApp at 0137066770.
