Astro Brings Prime Video to Ultra and Ulti Boxes with No Additional Charges for Customers

For all the entertainment lovers, Astro has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon to bring Prime Video to it’s Ultra and Ulti Box platforms. Starting today,  Astro customers on these devices can enjoy two months of complimentary access to Prime Video, running from today 24th April to 23rd June 2025, with no additional charge, a deal saving RM50.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in Astro’s vision to provide a seamless watching experience that combines the best of local and international contents. Astro’s Group CEO Euan Smith said the partnership is a strong addition to Astro’s growing ecosystem of entertainment options.

This integration is a significant step in our journey to offer our customers access to a vast array of exceptional content all in one place. By offering seamless access to Prime Video’s compelling content alongside our existing content and on-demand library, we are providing our customers with even greater value and choice, all conveniently accessible through their Ultra or Ulti box. This partnership enhances our commitment to providing not only the best but also a convenient entertainment experience to our customers.”

With the Prime Video app now fully integrated into the Astro interface, users can access a wide range of content, from Amazon Originals like The Boys, Reacher, and The Rings of Power, to regional hits like Mirzapur, Marry My Husband, and local Malaysian films such as Budak Flat and Kayangan. David Simonsen, Director For Prime Video in Southeast Asia and MENA, said that the goal is to bring global content closer to audiences via local platforms.

“Our goal is to create an unmatched viewing experience, and by integrating Prime Video into the Astro ecosystem we are ensuring that our customers can enjoy easy access to their favourite shows and movies across multiple devices, underscoring our customer obsession to deliver convenience and quality to our audience. With this partnership, our viewers can look forward to an even more diverse array of content, from Prime Video Originals

To activate the free two month trial, Astro customers can simply press “Home” on their remote control, select the Prime Video app under “Apps” and follow the on screen guide to link or create a Prime account and pair it with their Ultra or Ulti Box Astro subscribers can also customize their plans with over 13 popular streaming add-ons including Prime Video, Max, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Viu, iQIYI, WeTV, Zee5, Simply South, and more. All are manageable to be used via the My Astro app.
