On Saturday, 3 May 2025, SJKT Ayer Tawar, one of Perak’s leading Tamil schools, hosted a free medical camp in collaboration with its Alumni Association. Organised as part of the association’s social responsibility efforts, the event aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the local community while fostering a spirit of giving back.

The medical camp attracted around 200 participants and offered a wide range of health screenings and medical consultations, all aimed at promoting community well-being. The event was officially inaugurated by A. Sivanesan, a member of the Perak State Executive Council, who also delivered the keynote address.

On the same day, a special ceremony was held to celebrate the successful implementation of the “One Class, One Smart TV” initiative, which saw the installation of 70-inch smart televisions in 12 classrooms. This forward-thinking project aims to enhance the overall learning environment by integrating modern technology into everyday classroom teaching. By equipping each class with a smart TV, the school hopes to foster a more interactive and engaging educational experience for students. The initiative received widespread appreciation for its role in supporting digital learning and improving access to quality educational resources.

The events held at SJKT Ayer Tawar demonstrated the power of community collaboration and the importance of education and healthcare in improving the well-being of society. The free medical camp provided essential services to the local community, while the “One Class, One Smart TV” initiative showcased the school’s commitment to modernizing education and creating a more engaging learning environment. These efforts highlight the critical role of community support and unity in the development of Tamil schools, setting a positive example for others to follow.
