Petaling Jaya will experience several temporary road closures this weekend as the PJ Half Marathon 2025 takes place across the city on August 17, 2025. Preparations kick off tomorrow at 6pm, with Jalan Yong Shook Lin, in front of the MBPJ building, closed to traffic until noon on Sunday.
Drivers are advised to use Jalan Barat to reach Section 14 and Seapark, while Jalan 222 will provide access to central areas. On race day, rolling road closures will be in place across the city from 3.30am to 9am to accommodate the runners.

The affected routes will include Jalan Sultan, Jalan Barat, Jalan Utara, Jalan Timur, Jalan Gasing, Jalan Templer, Jalan Changgai, and several others. Drivers using Jalan Universiti, Jalan Kemajuan, and Persiaran Barat should anticipate delays, while smaller connecting roads such as Jalan SS1/36, Jalan 20/13, and Jalan 14/47 will also be closed to traffic.
Traffic police and MBPJ staff will be stationed along the routes to manage traffic flow and direct motorists through detours. Authorities have urged the public to comply with their instructions to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.
With extensive road closures and diversions planned, motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time. The PJ Half Marathon 2025 promises to be a major event for the city, and cooperation from road users will help ensure a safe and successful race for both participants and the community.
