Astro once again celebrated it’s loyal customers with an exclusive live music showcase, Up-Close, and Personal with Srinivas, held on 21st September 2025 at Ruang Rama Event Space. More than 300 fans, comprising Astro Rewards customers and media guests were treated to an intimate evening with renowned Indian playback singer Srinivas, whose soulful voice has captivated audiences for decades.
A Night of Nostalgia and Soulful Performances
The concert opened with Srinivas’s iconic hit ‘Apple Penne Neeyaro’, immediately igniting excitement in the crowd. Fans were then taken on a journey of nostalgia, as he performed beloved songs including ‘Minsara Penne’, ‘Muzhumathi’, and ‘Chotta Chotta’.
A heartfelt moment of the night came when Srinivas paid tribute to the late legendary singer S.P Balasubrahmanyam, performing classics such as ‘Kamban Emaarthan’, ‘Mandram Vanthu’, and ‘Thoda Thoda (Unplugged), a segment that deeply moved the audience.
Srinivas also surprised fans with a rendition of ‘Kanna Kanna’, a Malaysian Tamil favourite, performing alongside local talents Kumaresh, and Sri Vidya, adding a special local flavour to the evening.
Local Talents Take the Stage
The showcase also featured vibrant performances by celebrated Malaysian artists Arulini, Hemitraa, Thivyah, Kumaresh, and Sri Vidya, who brought Srinivas’s timeless hits like ‘En Uyire’, ‘Nenjam Oru Murai Nee Endrathu’, and ‘Poovukulam Siragu’ to life on stage.
Hosted by RAAGA’s Ahila, the night included an interactive Q&A sessions where fans had the rare opportunity to engage with Srinivas directly, making the evening both personal and memorable.
