A total of 3,000 Indian families from the B40 community in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency received food baskets ahead of Deepavali, bringing festive joy and relief to those in need.
The initiative, part of the Vanakam MADANI programme, was jointly organised by the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Constituency People’s Service Centre and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM).

According to organisers, the programme aims not only to provide material assistance but also to serve as a symbolic gesture of care and compassion, uplifting the community’s spirit and spreading “light” during the Deepavali season.
Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said each food basket carries significance beyond its contents — representing hope, renewal, and unity.

The festive baskets contained a variety of essential and traditional Deepavali items, including rice, cooking oil, murukku flour, adhirasam flour, dhal, sesame oil, and various types of cordial beverages.
In conjunction with the initiative, the Sungai Buloh People’s Service Centre also organised MADANI Cooperative Sales in the Kota Damansara and Paya Jaras state constituencies, offering discounts of up to 50%, said to be among the highest nationwide.

Datuk Seri R. Ramanan expressed his gratitude to volunteers, government agencies, and AIM for their contributions and support in making the programme a success, adding that the effort reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of the people.
