According to the Director of MOE’s Curriculum Development Division, Nooraini Kamaruddin these subjects will provide students with more hands-on interdisciplinary learning. The goal is to integrate science, arts, music, health, technical and vocational education, and digital skills.

The revised curriculum will also come with changes to school based assessment. Preschool to Year 2 students will be evaluated using three performance levels: Know, Understand and Do, while fourth level, Apply will be added from Year 3 onwards to measure how students use their knowledge in practical situations.

The ministry confirms that UPSR and PT3 will not be bringing back while the refreshed curriculum is designed to strengthen both academic learning and holistic competencies including digital skills, creativity and communication skills.
