The Home Ministry has announced that Malaysians will be required to use MyDigital ID as the primary login method for the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) mobile application starting January 15, 2026.
Under the new rule, Malaysian citizens accessing the MyNIISe app for immigration procedures must sign in with MyDigital ID. The existing login method will no longer be accepted for Malaysians using the app. Foreign travellers will not be affected by the change and can continue using the current login process.

The ministry said the move is part of efforts to improve security and convenience at immigration checkpoints by linking the system with the National Registration Department database. This allows for accurate identity verification without storing personal data within the app.
Malaysians aged 18 and above are encouraged to download and register for MyDigital ID ahead of the deadline. The application is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.
National Intergrated Imigration System (MyNIISe) was introduced in September 2025 at key immigration checkpoints in Johor Bahru and is being rolled out to major airports including Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Penang (Bayan Lepas), Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
