The Federal Government has confirmed that a new site for the relocation of Dewi Sri Pathra Kaliamman Temple has been fully prepared as part of the ongoing development of the Masjid MADANI project in Kuala Lumpur.
Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), said the relocation process is being carried out in a structured and lawful manner, while taking into account inter-religious harmony and the continuity of religious practices.

According to the minister, the government has expedited all necessary approvals to ensure the smooth relocation of the temple. She outlined a clear timeline of progress:
- September 17, 2025: Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) approved all building plan applications submitted by the temple committee.
- December 5, 2025: The new temple site was officially gazetted as a Non-Islamic Place of Worship.
- January 14, 2026: Approval to construct a building on the gazetted land was granted by the Federal Territories Kuala Lumpur Land Working Committee (JKTWPKL).
Hannah Yeoh added that the government is now coordinating the operational phase of relocation,involving all relevant agencies and stakeholders.She also assured that continuous and close discussions will be held with all parties particularly after Thaipusam celebrations to ensure relocation proceeds in orderly and harmoniou manner.

The minister expressed her appreciation to former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa and former Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Maimunah Sharif for their role in successfully securing the new temple site. She also acknowledged the support of Gobind Singh Deo, Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, and Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr SA Vigneswaran for their collective efforts in maintaining harmony in Kuala Lumpur.
