Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil has emphasised that education remains the best investment for the Indian community, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting Tamil schools.
Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai, made a special visit to SJKT Bangsar, where he was warmly received by the school community. The chairman of the school management committee, Dato Sangupillai, welcomed the minister by presenting him with a ceremonial ponnadai shawl.
Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced that an initial allocation of RM150 per student would be provided to the school. Following this announcement, a total of RM8,850 has already been channelled to benefit the 60 students currently enrolled at SJKT Bangsar.

Fahmi expressed hope that the school’s student enrolment would increase to 100 in the near future in SJKT Bangsar. To support this goal, he announced that 100 laptops would be donated to the school to enhance digital learning opportunities.
In addition, Fahmi said RM10,000 would be allocated to the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG), while the school’s outdoor hall would be upgraded with a new improved roof.
Fahmi also assured that SJKT Bangsar would continue to receive full support and assistance within his parliamentary constituency to ensure the school’s growth and development.
