As Thaipusam draws closer, devotees are beginning to prepare themselves to fulfil their vows by carrying paal kudam and kavadi in devotion to Lord Murugan. Even with a few days remaining before the festival, several devotees have already started to fulfill their vows and visit the Batu Caves Temple.
Tan Sri Datuk Dr. R. Nadarajah, said that new road works are currently underway at the Batu Caves riverside (Aattrangkarai) as part of preparations for the upcoming Thaipusam celebrations. The Aattrangkarai serves as a key gathering point where devotees assemble before beginning their sacred walk to the Batu Caves Temple while carrying their paal kudam and kavadi.

He explained that it is crucial to ensure the riverside is well-maintained, safe, and comfortable for devotees, given the large crowds expected in the coming days. In addition to the road resurfacing works, cleanliness and refurbishing efforts are also being carried out to ensure devotees can use the area without inconvenience.
While the temple management has made thorough preparations to facilitate devotees during the festival, Tan Sri Datuk Dr. R. Nadarajah emphasised that it is equally the responsibility of devotees to maintain cleanliness and take care of the riverside throughout the festival period.

With less than 10 days remaining until Thaipusam, devotees from various places have begun arriving at Batu Caves to seek blessings from Lord Murugan, with many already commencing their vows in anticipation of the sacred day.
