ShopeePay has increased it’s e-wallet limit to RM30,00, making it the largest e-wallet size currently available in Malaysia. The upgrade, announced on 21st January, automatically applies to all existing users who have completed e-KYC verification, with no additional action required.

For new users, as well as existing users who have yet to complete e-KYC, access to the RM30,000 wallet limit will be granted once verification is successfully completed. The move significantly enhances ShopeePay’s offering, catering to users with higher transaction needs while supporting more frequent and larger-value digital payments.

Higher Limits Across Daily, Monthly and Annual Use

Alongside the increased wallet size, ShopeePay has also raised it’s transaction thresholds. The daily transaction limit has been increased from RM9,999 to RM30,000, while the monthly limit now strands at RM180,000 up from RM20,000. The annual transaction limit has also tripled, rising from RM120,000 to RM360,000.

Despite the expanded limits, payments, transfers and withdrawals remain capped at RM9,999 per transaction, in line with existing regulatory requirements.

User-Controlled Security Features

Users are assigned a default daily transaction limit, which can be adjusted directly within the ShopeePay app under the ‘Me’ and ‘Transaction Limit’ settings. To ensure account security, a three-hour cooling-off period applies whenever users choose to increase their transaction limits.

With this upgrade, ShopeePay strengthens it’s positions in Malaysia’s digital payment landscape, offering greater flexibility and convenience for users while maintaining compliance and security standards.
