Grab Malaysia unveiled Kampus Rakan Grab (KRG), a newly reimagined network of economic empowerment hubs that marks a strategic shift from solely providing earning opportunities to supporting the long-term, holistic growth of its driver, delivery, and merchant-partners.
Selected Grab Driver Centres, starting with Petaling Jaya, have been refurbished and repurposed into dedicated hubs designed to help partners build skills, digital confidence, and resilience to thrive in an evolving economy. Kampus Rakan Grab serves as a shared space for upskilling, networking, and access to essential support services within and beyond the Grab ecosystem.
“Our partners have always been the backbone of our journey. As the economy transforms, our role must evolve from being a platform for earning to becoming a dedicated partner for their long-term growth,” said Adelene Foo, Managing Director of Grab Malaysia. “Kampus Rakan Grab is our way of listening and responding to our partners’ aspirations. We envision this hub as a space for continuous learning, connection, and empowerment.”

The launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, Minister of Human Resources, who commended Grab Malaysia’s commitment to the gig economy.
“The launch of Kampus Rakan Grab reflects a meaningful commitment to Malaysia’s gig workforce. By focusing on long-term social protection and upskilling, Grab is aligned with the Ministry’s goal of building a future-ready workforce,” he said.
He also announced that Grab Malaysia will increase its investment to subsidise PERKESO contributions for active driver- and delivery-partners under Skim Keselamatan Sosial Pekerjaan Sendiri (Lindung Kendiri), continuing a commitment initiated in 2020. Additionally, Grab will collaborate with the Ministry to make upskilling programmes accessible through Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK), enabling partners to gain skills critical for long-term success.

Three Pillars of Economic Empowerment
Kampus Rakan Grab builds on Grab’s more than decade-long commitment to partner well-being and focuses on three key areas:
Empowering Through Continuous Learning
KRG continues to serve as the physical home of GrabAcademy, which has benefited over 40,000 partners through practical upskilling programmes. These include digital and financial literacy, exposure to new tools and technologies such as AI, and certification pathways developed in collaboration with partners including CARSOME Academy, GIATMARA, and Saito University College.
Inclusive and Supportive Community
Designed to be safe and accessible, KRG is PWD-friendly, featuring dedicated assistance booths for deaf partners to communicate directly with staff. It is also family-friendly, with a play area to support working parents. Regular networking sessions and festive celebrations will further foster a strong sense of community among partners.
Simplifying the Path to Economic Growth
To reduce friction and improve access, KRG brings essential services under one roof through a one-stop support centre for onboarding and issue resolution. Partners also gain hands-on access to Grab’s wider ecosystem, including GXBank, GFin, and Jaya Grocer, alongside on-site consultations with third-party service providers such as insurance partners.

Strengthening Grab’s Long-Term Commitment
The Kampus Rakan Grab initiative represents an evolution of the GrabBenefits programme, which saw an additional RM10 million investment in 2025. It also complements Grab’s RM5 million investment made alongside the government’s Sejahtera MADANI fund, reinforcing its commitment to economic empowerment through upskilling and career development.
By focusing on five pillars which are protection, savings, academy, financial solutions, and community, Grab Malaysia continues to support inclusive growth for Malaysians participating in the digital economy, aligning with national efforts towards sustainable socio-economic upliftment and poverty eradication.
