The timeless verses of the Thirumurai resonated through sacred music as Sachidananda Musical presented Thirumurai Innisai Arangam 2026, a spiritually enriching evening that moved hearts and reaffirmed the enduring power of devotional art.
Held on Saturday evening, 24 January 2026, at the Shanthanand Auditorium, Temple of Fine Arts, Brickfields, the arangam unfolded under the theme “Thirumurai Nam Urai Murai.” The programme offered audiences a profound journey into the divine teachings of the Thirumurai, brought to life through soulful musical renditions steeped in devotion and discipline.

The evening brought together 110 children, dedicated teachers, and accomplished artistes who rendered the sacred hymns with deep sincerity. Participants, ranging in age from as young as three years old, demonstrated not only musical excellence but also a strong spiritual grounding. Their heartfelt performances created an atmosphere of reflection, devotion, and inner connection, drawing the audience into moments of devotion.
The arangam was led by the Founder of Sachidananda Musical and Director of Thirumurai Innisai Arangam 2026, Associate Professor Lt. Col. (R) Ir. Ts. Dr. Vikneswaran Munikanan, whose vision continues to nurture the spiritual and cultural roots to the younger generation. More than 300 parents and members of the community gathered to witness the soulful divine performances by the children.

Through seamless musical expressions, the children conveyed the essence of the Thirumurai, highlighting the relevance of its ancient wisdom in contemporary life. The harmonious blend of devotion and music served as a reminder that the teachings of the Thirumurai remain a guiding force for values, discipline, and spiritual awareness.
The event was graced by YB Yuneswaran Ramaraj, Deputy Minister of National Unity, and Mr. Shanmugam Mookan, Special Duties Officer to the Prime Minister. Both honourable guests emphasised the importance of preserving cultural traditions such as the Thirumurai for future generations.

Mr. Shanmugam Mookan stressed that cultural traditions are an integral part of identity and that it is a collective responsibility to pass them on to the younger generation. Meanwhile, YB Yuneswaran Ramaraj highlighted that cultural and spiritual programmes play a vital role in shaping children’s character and behaviour, while also strengthening unity within and across communities.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Vikneswaran thanked the children, dedicated teachers, parents who also served as volunteers, as well as supporters and sponsors for their unwavering commitment in making the arangam a meaningful and spiritually uplifting experience.
“Thirumurai is a sacred bridge between spirituality and everyday life. Through this arangam, our students are not merely performing music but carrying forward a living spiritual heritage. Such efforts cultivate values, discipline, and devotion in the younger generation,” he said.

Sachidananda Musical hopes that the sacred teachings shared through Thirumurai Innisai Arangam 2026 will continue to inspire hearts, enrich lives, and encourage families to immerse their children in the spiritual and cultural practice of Thirumurai learning.
