The International Tamil Siddhar Heritage Conference 2026 will be held from 27 February to 1 March 2026 at Universiti Malaya, bringing together scholars, researchers and cultural enthusiasts to celebrate the rich legacy of the Tamil Siddhar tradition.
Organised by the Department of Indian Studies at Universiti Malaya, the three-day conference aims to highlight the philosophical, literary and spiritual contributions of the Tamil Siddhars, revered mystic poet-saints known for their works on devotion, ethics, medicine, yoga and metaphysical thought.
The event will feature keynote addresses, research paper presentations and panel discussions centred on Siddhar literature, heritage and indigenous knowledge systems. Participants from Malaysia and abroad are expected to take part, making it a significant international platform for Tamil studies and cultural discourse.
Hosted in Kuala Lumpur, the conference underscores Malaysia’s continued commitment to promoting Tamil language scholarship and preserving traditional knowledge. Over three days, attendees will engage in meaningful academic exchange while reflecting on the enduring relevance of Siddhar teachings in the modern world.
