On March 8, 2026, in conjunction with International Women’s Day, the Persatuan Silambam Korvai Selangor hosted the Silambam Arangetra Vizha 2026. This remarkable day was highlighted by the achievement of 13 dedicated women silambam students who performed and earned their black belts, marking a milestone in their martial arts journey.
The event was not just a display of skill, but a powerful reminder that women can excel in any endeavor they pursue. The achievement of these students resonated strongly, especially on a day dedicated to honoring women and their contributions across all spheres of life.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance was Deputy Unity Minister, Yuneswaran Ramaraj. In his social media post, he expressed his honour at witnessing women actively participating in martial arts, a field often dominated by men. He acknowledged the challenges these women faced to earn their black belts, emphasizing that the journey requires years of discipline and sacrifice.
Minister Yuneswaran expressed his hope that the accomplishments of these women would serve as an inspiration for others, encouraging more females to pursue their passions, regardless of societal expectations. This celebration of female empowerment not only highlights the dedication of these Silambam students but also marks a positive step towards greater inclusion and representation in all areas, including martial arts.

The Silambam Arangetra Vizha stands as a testament to the strength of women and the importance of supporting their pursuits. As we celebrate these achievements, we are reminded that with perseverance, women can achieve greatness and inspire future generations to strive for their dreams.
