In a remarkable achievement that highlights dedication and unity, the Patanjali Ashtangga Yoga Training Center in Johor has made its mark in the Malaysia Book of Records by setting a new national record for the fastest completion of 108 sun salutations (Surya Namaskar) by a group. This event, which was held on 28 March 2026, featured a diverse group of 79 participants, ranging in age from 5 to 35 years.
The participants completed the 108 sun salutations in an astonishing time of just 19 minutes and 37 seconds. This significant achievement not only surpassed the previous benchmark of 30 minutes but also demonstrated the discipline and hard work invested by each member of the group. The event took place at the Dewan Puteri Wangsa in Johor, a fitting venue for such an inspiring gathering.

This successful event was led by Master Srimathy Thamaraiselvi Sukumaran, the Founder and Senior Trainer of the Patanjali Ashtangga Yoga Training Center. Under her insightful guidance, the participants developed a strong sense of consistency, discipline, and resilience, allowing them to endure the physical and mental challenges of the performance. Master Srimathy’s leadership was pivotal in preparing the group, ensuring they were well-trained and motivated to push their limits.

Often viewed simply as a form of exercise, this achievement serves as a powerful reminder that yoga embodies much more than physical activity. Yoga promotes overall wellness, mental clarity, and spiritual growth, making it accessible for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The success of the Patanjali Ashtangga Yoga Training Center not only fills its members with pride but also encourages a broader audience to embrace yoga as a valuable practice for personal development and health.
This event inspires all of us to recognize the benefits of yoga and consider incorporating it into our lives, thereby fostering a culture of health, wellness, and community spirit.
