On April 5, 2026, a security guard named G. Anand was allegedly beaten to death by a drunk man using a car steering lock after confronting him about drinking. According to North Klang Police Chief S. Vijaya Rao, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in a residential area of Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang.
The incident began when Anand approached a group of people who were drinking in the neighborhood. His supervisor, D. Viswa, stated that initially, when Anand approached the group, the suspect, who was intoxicated, shouted at him. A friend of the suspect advised Anand to return to his guardhouse because the suspect was very drunk. However, the intoxicated suspect eventually went back to the guardhouse with a car steering lock and used it to strike Anand, resulting in severe injuries. Later, Anand was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:18 a.m.
Following the incident, police tracked down and arrested the suspect, seizing the car steering lock believed to have been used in the attack.

The North Klang Police Chief reported that the suspect has a criminal history, including ten prior offenses with two related to drugs.
Police also confirmed that the victim and the suspect did not know each other prior to this incident and clarified that the case is not linked to any gang activity. The investigation is currently underway under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Anand’s family members and colleague are mourning his loss, remembering him as a hardworking man. Anand’s family members stated that he took this security guard’s job due to his financial difficulties as he needs to provide for his family who has two children who are still young. Anand was laid to rest at Fairy Park Heritage City in Shah Alam on 7th of April, 2026.
