The Johor Government is offering full scholarship to the state’s top SPM scorers to pursue higher education in some of the world’s leading universities under Biasiswa Orang Muda Johor (BOMJ) programme 2026.
Johor Unity, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman Raven Kumar Krishnasamy has said that the initiative, is managed by Yayasan Pelajaran Johor, and is designed to develop a new generation of globally competitive talent.
Pathway to World-Class Education
The scholarship is for students who achieve outstanding results in the SPM 2025 examination and wish to further their studies at the world’s top 20 universities, ranked by global benchmarks, like QS, Times Higher Education (THE) and ARWU.
Among the institutions included are Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Oxford, Stanford University and National University of Singapore.
Focus on Strategic Fields
Priority is given to students pursuing fields aligned with Johor’s long-term development goals, which includes engineering and technical studies, science and technology, and even social sciences. Raven noted that this approach ensures graduates can contribute meaningfully to state’s future growth.
Eligibility and Applications
Applicants must have scored a minimum of 9A’s in SPM 2025, and has to be aged 19 below at the time of application, and either be born in Johor or have lived in the state for at least 5 years. There is no minimum household income requirement.
Applications for the programme are open from 6th April to 19th April 2026. Desriving this initiative as a path for global opportunities, Raven encouraged students who are eligible to seize the chance to study at top institutions and compete on international stage. Applications can be submitted in Yayasan Pelajaran Johor website.
