A young boy made Malaysia proud after he represented the nation at a international youth conference held at the prestigious University of Oxford in England.
Sharvin Thangaraj, from Kampung Tun Sambanthan in Ayer Tawar, Perak, is a law student in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
The summit took place on 9th April to 11th April and Sharvin was the only representative from Malaysia.It is organized by the Commonwealth Youth Council, and it brings young leaders all around the Commonwealth to discuss pressing global issues.
During the conference, Sharvin brought up a few key topics that affects youth today, which includes employment opportunities, economic sustainability and entrepreneurship.
He emphasised the importance of ensuring youth voices, especially those from underserved community, are heard at globally.
Sharvin’s participation brings attention to realities faced by young people in rural and plantation areas. His contribution helped to place Malaysian grassroot issues on a international platform reflecting a broader need for inclusive development.
He had also extended his appreciation to a few people including the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and UUM for supporting his participation.
His presence is a important moment, not just for youths in Malaysia but for wider community as he carried the voice of the nation to a global stage.
