Malaysia’s young squash talent Jinoreeka Ning has shown determination after overcoming an injury scare to secure a spot in the girls Under-17 semi-finals at the Asian Junior Squash Championships in Panzhihua, China.
She defeated fellow Malaysian Yek Rui Jean in straight games, she won 11-9, 11-9, 11-6, in just 30 minutes.
However, everyone is still concern on Jinoreeka’s condition after she reportedly played through a tendon injury during the match.
According to her father R.Manivannan, her participation in the semi-finals will depend on her recovery.

The family is being cautious as the World Junior Championships selection trials is on 7th June 2026 and Jinoreeka is hoping to qualify in the tournament, which will take place in Ontario, Canada this July.
If she recovers, Jinoreeka will face India’s third see Anika Dubey for place in finals.
Malaysia also had success in other categories, top seed Harleein Tan got into Under-17 semi-finals after defeating Japan’s Himari Midorikawa, with 11-3, 11-5, 11-3 score.
And M.Nichileswar also got into the Under-19 semi finals after overcoming Japan’s Shu Takahashi in 4 games.
Malaysia also enjoyed strong performance in Under-15 category, with Julius Tan Li Hao and Vidhurran Ruthiran who advanced into semi-finals.
The results shows Malaysia’s growing strength in junior squash, with many young players continue to mark on international stage.
