Two 14-year-old Indian schoolgirls were found dead near Flat Sungai Pari in Buntong, Ipoh, on Friday, prompting an ongoing police investigation into the tragic incident. Authorities have urged the public not to speculate as forensic examinations are still underway.
Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said police received a report after the two Form Two students were discovered unconscious near the flats and were pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigations revealed that both girls had left school before the incident occurred.
According to police, there is currently no evidence of third-party involvement based on preliminary investigations. However, officers are continuing to gather information while awaiting the official post-mortem and forensic reports, which will determine the exact cause of death.
Police have also appealed to anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation. At the same time, members of the public have been urged to refrain from spreading unverified information or speculation on social media and to respect the privacy of the victims’ families during this difficult period.
