Chong Zhemin, Member of Parliament for Kampar, stated that the Sri Rama Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Kampar could become more than a place of worship, with efforts underway to develop the site into a unique destination that brings together spirituality, culture and nature.

The temple, which is currently under construction, was recently visited by Chong Zhemin together with Keranji State Assembly Member Angeline Koo. During the visit, they were briefed by the temple administration committee on the progress of the construction, future development plans and the challenges involved in completing the new temple.

One of the site’s key attractions is its natural surroundings, which include large granite boulders, lush greenery and a peaceful environment. Wildlife, including wild boars and monkeys, has also been spotted around the area, reflecting the site’s rich natural landscape.

Chong said the combination of the temple and its surrounding environment could provide an opportunity to create a distinctive tourism attraction in Kampar. He proposed that future development could include improvements to landscaping, infrastructure, accessibility and traffic management while preserving the area’s natural character.

The proposed development could also create opportunities for the local community by attracting devotees and visitors from across Malaysia and potentially from overseas. Increased visitor activity could contribute to local businesses and support the wider economy in Kampar.

Chong has also pledged to work with the temple administration, government departments and other relevant parties to explore ways to realise the site’s potential. While acknowledging that the development would require long-term planning and cooperation, he described the effort as a meaningful one for the future of Kampar.

With its religious significance and distinctive natural surroundings, the Sri Rama Bhakta Hanuman Temple could eventually become a new landmark that celebrates Hindu heritage while offering visitors an opportunity to experience the cultural and natural character of Kampar.
