Simbu was last seen in director Sundar C’s Vantha Rajavathan Varuven, which released in 2019. It has been a whirlwind of a year for the actor who was caught in a lot of controversies.
Though Simbu announced the film Maanadu with Venkat Prabhu in 2018, it didn’t take off due to unknown reasons.
Simbu and producer Suresh Kamatchi had a fallout last year because of which he was dropped from the film. Later, they sorted out the issues and on January 16, the producer took to Twitter to share the details regarding the cast and crew of the film.
On January 18, producer Suresh Kamatchi took to his social media profile to share exclusive videos of Simbu working out at the gym. It looks like the actor is following a rigorous training session to shed extra kilos to look the part in Maanadu.

Apart from Simbu, Maanadu has Kalyani Priyadarshan, SA Chandrasekar, Premgi Amaren, Karunakaran and Bharathiraja in prominent roles. The film, which will go on floors on February 1, has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
