The Director General of the Ministry of Health (MOH), Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, said that the Ministry is talking to fashion designers, and working with other agencies to get more personal protective equipment (PPE) for the healthcare frontliners.

The statement came in response to being asked if MOH is engaging with factories directly for PPE production, during the press conference held yesterday.

The number of PPE items being used by healthcare workers amounts to 59 million units per month. Dr Noor Hisham also noted that there are 18 items needed under the category of PPE.

Malaysia Official Designers Association (MODA) is working with Fashion Valet and IMARET in getting materials and sewing the additional PPE.

They are among the many organisations and companies that have been helping fight this pandemic.
