Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is expected to make his much awaited statement on the implementation of stricter Covid-19 measures which may include a possible Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 at 6pm today.
Last Friday, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Muhyiddin was supposed to make an announcement about additional steps to prevent the country’s Covid-19 pandemic from worsening further.
Ismail Sabri also confirmed that the National Security Council (NSC) is in the process of drawing up the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on the basis of recommendations from different parties.
The Prime Minister’s special announcement will be screened live on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), Bernama TV, TV3 and Astro Awani.
In the meantime, please adhere strictly to all the SOPs set by the government, we cannot afford to have more rising Covid-19 cases in the country. Its after effects would leave a long-lasting detrimental effect on us all. Stay safe everyone!
