One of the headliners for Mojo Project’s Malaysian Independent Live Fusion Festival 2018 is the very beautiful and multi-talented Andrea Jeremiah. A renowned actress and a sultry singer, Andrea will be entertaining the Malaysian crowd with her band this Saturday, September 8, at the StarXpo Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Here are a few fun facts to know to Andrea Jeremiah – leading up to the much-anticipated MILFF 2018:

  1. Her acting debut was in Pachaikili Muthucharam

Andrea Jeremiah impressed director Gautham Menon when she sang a song for him in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu; who then asked her to star in his next movie. Andrea starred in Pachaikili Muthucharam along with Sarath Kumar and Jyothika. The film was a remake of Hollywood film, Derailed.

2. She voiced Sadha in Kannum Kannum Nokia from Anniyan

Andrea has a bold and sultry voice, and she is best known for her vocals in songs like ‘Google Google’ from Thuppaki and ‘Ek Do Theen’ from Anjaan. One of her earliest songs in the Tamil film industry was actually in Anniyan, where she sang the upbeat number ‘Kannum Kannum Nokia’.

3. She also composes songs

Aside from being a talented actress and singer, Andrea has also composed and produced her own music. When she did the movie Taramani, she composed, wrote and sang ‘Soul of Taramani’ as part of the movie’s promotion.

4. She has spoken out against portraying heroines as bimbos

One thing that Andrea’s fans love about her is that she doesn’t just agree to a movie for the heck of it. She’s very careful and particular about how women are characterized in the story, and she has spoken out against directors portraying heroines as bimbos and eye candy. She urged filmmakers to give women a more substantial role so they can truly act, instead of just dressing scantily and dancing on screen.

If you watch to catch Andrea Jeremiah live in Kuala Lumpur, head over to AirAsia RedTix right now to get your tickets to MILFF 2018, taking place at the KWC Fashion Mall, Kuala Lumpur on the 8th of September.
