Petta is Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The film is scheduled to release in January during Ponggal. The filmmakers have released the first song from the movie, aptly called Marana Mass. The music for Petta is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film features an ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, M. Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, J. Mahendran and Guru Somasundaram.
Although news reports say that SP Balasubrahmanyam has sung the song, the acclaimed singer only sings one verse in Marana Mass. Of course Anirudh himself has to be the one singing most of the song. The music director always makes sure his voice is heard in the introductory song of the movie he composes for. SP Bala is voicing a Rajinikanth intro song after a break of 4 years.
The song is everything a Rajinikanth fan could ask for. And as most of us are reeling from the stink of 2.0, hopes are pinned sky high on Petta to deliver. Check out Marana Mass here
