Chiyaan Vikram, real name Kennedy John Victor, is a well-known Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in the Tamil cinema industry. He gained the stage name “Chiyaan” from his performance as a police officer in the film “Sethu” (1999), where his co-star Suriya called him “Chiyaan.” Vikram is well-known for his versatility and ability to play a variety of characters.
Before entering the film industry, he studied English literature and ventured in modelling. He made his acting debut in the Tamil film “En Kadhal Kanmani” in 1990, but he rose to prominence with his breakthrough performance in “Sethu” (1999). His performance in the film as a mentally unstable adolescent received critical acclaim and earned him several accolades.
Vikram has been praised for his dedication and commitment to his characters throughout his career. He is well-known for his physical alterations and has undergone spectacular transformations for a number of films. One of his most remarkable transformations was for the film “I” (2015), in which he portrayed many characters and undergone extensive physical modifications.
Other significant films by Vikram include “Pithamagan” (2003), for which he received the National Film Award for Best Actor, “Anniyan” (2005), “Kandasamy” (2009), “Deiva Thirumagal” (2011), and “Raavanan” (2010). He has worked with several well-known directors and has received praise for his great performances. Recently, he also acted in “Iru Mugan” (2016), “Sketch”, “Saamy Square” (2018) directed by Hari and he also acted in “Cobra” which was released in 2022. Apart from all these, recently he had played a significant role as Athitha Karikaalan in “Ponniyin Selvan 1” and “Ponniyin Selvan 2” which will remain as his great record throughout his career. Vikram’s dedication to his craft has earned him numerous awards and accolades, including several Filmfare Awards and Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
Followed by that, Vikram has been involved in his upcoming movie shoot which is “Thangalaan”. The film features Vikram, Malavika Mohanan and Parvathy Thiruvothu. This movie is being directed by Pa. Ranjith. ‘Thangalaan’ an epic period action adventure set in eighteenth century KGF is produced on a grand scale by Studio Green with music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. Vikram and Malavika posted on their social media accounts saying that Thangalaan has wrap up its shooting.
He had posted two different stunning pictures which includes himself, Director Pa. Ranjith and Parvathy Thiruvothu, on the post and wrote the caption as “was it just 118 working days between the first pic & the last.” He was surprised that the time flied so fast that it was just 118 working days for the project between both pictures. The hard work and dedication of the team could be seen from the pictures. The team is planning for a festive release date by the end of the year or early next. Fans are eagerly waiting for the movie.
