Papparaidu Veraman, a Member of the Selangor State Executive Council, has announced plans to propose the establishment of a Special Committee dedicated to addressing the needs of Tamil schools in the region. This announcement follows a meeting attended by S. S. Pandian from the Malaysian Tamil Headmasters Association, Vice President Kumaran Marimuthu from the Malaysian Tamil School Former Students Association, Secretary Dato Kumaran Velu from the Malaysian Tamil Associations Assembly and Arun Dorasaamy from Tamil Palli Nannimaipaadu.
The primary aim of this proposed committee is to tackle the various challenges faced by Tamil schools in Selangor, ranging from issues like school relocations to securing land rights and improving access to computer education. One notable proposal put forth during the meeting is the establishment of a Tamil Education Forum under the authority of the Selangor state government. This forum would serve as a platform for open dialogue, allowing stakeholders to discuss pressing issues affecting Tamil educational institutions and collaborate on effective solutions.
Papparaidu Veraman has expressed his commitment to thoroughly evaluating this proposal, recognizing its potential to drive positive change. Additionally, the meeting attendees advocated for the replacement of outdated computers in Simpang Tamil School with newer models to enhance the quality of education for students.
