Petta’s Poongodi Hits Back At Moral Policing Trolls

Malavika Mohanan, the actress who played Poongodi in the Rajinikanth starrer Petta, has hit back at the trolls who were policing her dressing on social media.

It began when the actress posted a picture of herself in shorts, to which the Indian culture guardians felt it was imperative that they have a say in the actress’ dressing. Some even had the audacity to ask her about her motives behind dressing that way.

The next day, Malavika posted another picture from the same shoot, with a caption to shut the trolls up.

So many comments and opinions about how “a respectable girl should dress”. On that note, here, take one more picture of me sitting very respectably wearing whatever the hell I want to wear 🙂 . . ? @rahuljhangiani Makeup @nittigoenka Hair @akshatahonawar Styling @triparnam Public Relations @theitembomb

One would think that this post would be sufficient to shut the culture guardians up. Will the donkeys ever stop braying?

Malavika, you go girl!
