It is said that Sonakshi’s saree is her mother’s. However, the colored picture of Poonam Sinha’s wedding, she wore an light pink saree. Although the saree is a different color, it looks similar with the pattern.
The saree of Poonam is over 44 years old and held sentimental value added a touch of heritage to the ceremony. Sonakshi adorned the saree with her mother’s vintage jewellery, white flowers in her hair and a matching ivory blouse. The Reception: A Red Banarasi Wonder
Following the civil ceremony, Sonakshi hosted a reception where she donned a stunning red Banarasi silk saree from Raw Mango. This saree, priced at Rs 79,800, featured the ‘chaand buta’ (crescent moon) motif and a heavily weaved golden zari border.
Paired with a matching red blouse, subtle emerald and kundan jewellery, and a sleek bun adorned with white flowers, Sonakshi’s reception look was both traditional and striking. For the post-reception party, Sonakshi chose a heavily embroidered red anarkali suit by Anita Dongre. This outfit, named ‘Into the wilderness zardozi & cord silk kurta set’, is priced at Rs 2.55 lakh, making it the most expensive attire she wore during her wedding festivities.
The suit, with its Mughal flower motifs and intricate border detailing, was complemented by the same emerald and kundan jewellery she wore earlier. Sonakshi looked ethereal as she cut the cake with her husband Zaheer, in this ornate and luxurious ensemble.
