Poojitha Menon and Visithra Manikam Featured in AP Art Gallery’s Virtual Exhibition

Visithra Manikam and Poojitha Menon are exhibiting at AP Art Gallery’s virtual art exhibition titled LELAKI!

From the 21st of April up until the 21st of May 2020, this exhibition will feature the work of 19 artists. LELAKI! is a continuation of AP Art Gallery’s WANITA exhibition. WANITA saw how male artists depict of women. LELAKI! sees the female artists’ interpretation of men.

#vissyarts #visartexhi Title: Lelaki Terakhir (last man) Size: 100×100 cm Year: 2020 By Visithra Manikam When Ap Gallery invited me for the exhibition I was a bit confused of what to draw. My paintings subject is usually women n social issues surrounding them. I wanted to creat an art that was still related to this. Hence Lelaki Terakhir. Which is My wish that this is the last patriarchal man in Malaysia. That women will no longer have to deal with them. The flowers are done in the pattern of traditional Malaysian batik style and is part of my batik series. Currently part of @ap.artgallery exhibition – Lelaki Lelaki is a continuation of wanita exhibition. A joint exhibition in conjunction with womens day. While wanita saw male artiest depiction of women. Lelaki sees womens interpretation of men. Thank you to @ap.artgallery for the opportunity.
