Ministry of Finance has declared that all the Urban Transformation Centres (UTC) will start its operation daily starting Monday, June 15th.

This follows Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s announcement on the extension of UTC operating hours.

It cited several factors including overtime and utility costs, as well as smaller crowds after 7 pm, though several UTCs later had their operating hours extended.

Under the new operating hours, UTCs will open every day except on national and state public holidays.

In Peninsula Malaysia, UTCs will open from 8 am to 9 pm from Monday to Friday, with no breaks except for a two-and-a-half-hour Friday prayer break from 12.15 pm to 2.45 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, UTCs will open from 8 am to 5 pm.

In Sabah and Sarawak, UTCs will open from 8 am to 5 pm daily, seven days a week.

The Friday prayer break for Sarawak is from 11.45 am to 2.15 pm, while for Sabah and Labuan it is from 11.30 am to 2.00 pm.
