Malaysian actress Pashini has taken social media by storm with her latest Hari Raya special recreation video of Mimifly’s recent Raya hit song ‘Serumpun’. The video posted by Pashini, beautifully embodies Malaysia’s multicultural harmony, has gone viral on Instagram with 1 million views within 24 hours.

Along with her previous successful work in the Malaysian Tamil entertainment industry, this latest project carries a universal message of unity by showcasing the beauty of different cultures coming together. Pashini’s heartfelt tribute to Hari Raya highlights the deep-rooted appreciation Malaysians have for one another’s tradition.

A Vision Brought To Life

Directed by renowned Malaysian hairstylist and make-up artist Shan De Souza, the video stands out not only for it’s stunning visuals but also for it’s flawless execution. Shan, in addition to directing, personally handled the makeup for the artists, ensuring that every detail contributed to the vibrant and Raya aesthetic.

The choreography played a key role in making the video so engaging, led by Master Kishan Jay and Master Nantha. Their dynamic and energetic moves brought a fresh spirit to the recreation, enhancing the celebratory feel of the entire video.

The video featured Pashini along with other talented performers, Thivena Parameswara, Durgahshini, Thanuja Johnson and Thurgesh, from KJ Dancers who added grace and energy to the video.

The video was not an intention on getting fame, instead it was sought mainly to highlight Malaysia’s identity as a truly multiracial nation. Through her participation in this Hari Raya tribute, you can see the admiration she has for traditions for her fellow Malaysians, emphasizing the importance of genuinely embracing each other’s culture. As Pashini said in her caption of the video,

“We are truly an Anak Malaysia when we ‘balik kampung’ for Raya, get that ‘ang pow’ for CNY and put that ‘kolam’ for Deepavali. Sharing traditions and celebrating together! UNITY is our strength, truly!”
